Front bonnet looks dull
I've used a cleaner, a cleaner with wax, and paste waxed, and the front still looks like it was painted with flat paint. There's no chalk, and if you look from the side you can see a bit of a sheen. The back is shinny as a mirror. What can I do to bring back the shine?

You can wax it till the cows come home. It's a waste of time. If you wont it to shine take it to a body shop and paint it.

After ten years, I can see the front cap being dull. The only thing to bring back shine to the gelcoat is by having it compounded. This is a lot of work and you will need a good random orbit buffer, loads of muscle, and finesse....or...take it to someone that works on boats and have them do the work. Been there, done that on lots of sailboats in the past. John

Check this site out, I am about to use this product on our 8 year old boat, since the arms are not what they used to be with regards to repetitive buffing.

Some of the RV Dealers use ReNew 3000 to restore trade ins so they can sell them without having to repaint. http://www.amazon.com/B-E-S-T-57032-.../dp/B002EW5G8I
NOTE: I have not tried nor do I endorse ReNew

It's like these things come from different factories. Regardless if stored inside or outside, some have fiberglass that gets dull and chalky, others don't; some have stickers that fade and/or peel, others don't. Go figure.

Fire5er the ReNew 3000 is carnauba wax, which is what the paste wax is made of that I'm using. I didn't have any luck with that, but thanks for the suggestion.
On the other hand, the product bncinwv suggested (Shine On) looks like it might be worth a shot. Thanks for your help! I'll let you know how it works.

Several have given great reviews on http://poliglow-int.com/ .
It is probably similar to shineon but cheaper. Please report back if any one uses either product. My front cap is already needing help.

As you can tell from my signature, my Montana is working on 13 years old. I've used many suggested items-including Re-New 3000-but was not satisfied with effort verses outcome. I have used "Gel_Gloss" from Camping World for the last five years. It's a 1-application process that cleans (removes bugs and scraps)polishes and seals. Yes, it does take some effort to rub in but the removal is easy. This stuff is also used on fiberglass boats. Try it and see...it doesn't cost that much. Good luck!
