A Quandry for Men

I just don't understand it. Something about vacation brings out the shopping bug in women. Sitting in Kohl's with four women running circles around the clearance racks. Thinking about the two pounds of local jumbo shrimp, scallops and crab legs in the Montana screaming for a man's undivided attention! I am hungry, tired, and befuddled! A man's lot with no recourse, HELP!!

I don't envy you being in the RV with all that estrogen flowing everywhere.

Been there, done that!! I bring one of our I-PAD's along when ever we take a little road trip as I know it can take a little while to circle those sales racks. The wife also uses this system when I run across a tool sale.... We are heading to Reno in a week or so for Hot August Nights so will bring 2 pads for the trip...

I do understand, and it will be alright, just be cool and say things like Yes, it looks good, or Yes, I like it. or maybe Yes, Yes this is such a great place to shop. Just think, you could be back at the mine.

Ahhhhhhhhh, all is good now, other than the fact that the women couldn't hold their own (Cathy is excused, she does not eat seafood), against dear old dad! Scallops with a smidgen of olive oil and lemon pepper cooked on the grill, steamed shrimp and snow crabs with a little old bay, total cooked weight - about six pounds!! For four people, ahhhhh life is GOOD! Have to admit had to discard about a half pound of Murrels Inlet shrimp, but I never got up from the picnic table for about an hour and a half. Can't move, but life is GOOD!!

Better know the dials and buttons really well before you start pushing & twisting on any of them.

Our latest trick to handle this man/woman thing is that I'll go to a museum of some sort while she goes on her shopping spree.

We both end up happy and satisfied.

Great stories. Years ago I was in a simular situation. I was sitting there bored, and seen my wife coming in my direction, slow but sure, checking all the racks. I picked one large round rack, crawled inside and waited. A couple ladies came by and sorta glanced at the items on that rack, then in a few minutes I thought surely this must be my wife. When "she" pulled a couple items apart to separate them so she could see them better, I said, "Excuse me, this stall is taken" The scream could be heard for blocks, the store manager ordered me out eventually, and my wife wanted to make me walk home, but I had the keys. So I just went to a little bar a couple doors down, had a beer and laughed myself silly till my wife finally re-owned me and came and got me. Then the uncontrollable laughter stopped--lol. Happy Trails, Steve

Yeah, I don't get it either. Drive 200 miles from home, camp on a beautiful lake, and then we go spend the day at Walmart and other assorted stores. But, okay. Like the saying goes, ..if momma not happy, ain't nobody happy. True that.

This way you ALL enjoy your day.
Bonus is to coordinate their return time with the cooking/steaming done and everyone ready to chow down!

Someone once said "When a woman is happy the world is happy" which means in your world "When the wife is happy - you're happy". I have learned the hard way
like most married men. There is a time to keep your mouth shut. Shopping is usually one of those times that is etched in the top of that "Keep Your Mouth Shut" list.
