We had to replace our converter and while underneath wiring it up, we decided to add a plug to the converter end and a surge protector in between a regular strip receptacle on the power end. W suspended the connections from the underside of the stair in case water gets on the floor as it did when the vacuum breaker for the black tank flush leaked.
The original installation was hardwired in using crimp-on connectors. We thought that if we have to replace again, it should be a bit easier, and if a surge gets through our Surge Guard, the added surge protector ($5 at Wally World) should protect the converter.
