Television articulating wall mounts

We bought two TV Flat-screen sets for the Montana, one for the bedroom and one for the living room, they had one wall mount to choose from:
Sanus - Full-Motion Mount for 23" - 37" Flat-Panel TVs - Extends 15.5" - Supports most flat-panel TVs from 23" - 37" and up to 60 lbs. Measures 12-1/2"H x 11-1/4"W x 15-1/2"D Extends 15.5" $129.99
So, I bought it..under duress.
I says to myself, "Hershel, you got to have them for the flat-screens" but, then I just can't spend $130.00 for them
I got on the Internet, where would we be without it???
Amazon had some:
VideoSecu Articulating TV Wall Mount for 22-37" VESA 200 100 LED LCD TV Monitor Full Motion Bracket 3V7
Retail $99.00 Amazon: $29.99
Much better..
Just wanted to pass along the inexpensive mounts, just got them today, and they look like they will work fine.

How are you going to prevent the TV from swinging around while you're in motion? I didn't see anything in the description about a motion lock.

Or is it time for another Ozz Mod?

Ha! I will just have some sort of locking catch. I will be able to dream something up once it's in place. I lay in bed when I am supposed to be sleeping and obsess about things like this...

I will be interested in what you do. I had looked at similar mounts also, but was very concerned about the bouncing it might do going down the highway.

Keystone-Montana has a real cheap fix for that problem. The 42" in the 3750 is mounted on a swivel mount somewhat like the one shown. It is held in place by (brace yourself here, you may fall out of your chair from a laughing fit) by the good old nylon straps that hold the recliners down in other models. Our model obviously does not have recliners so I guess they had a bunch of extra straps left over and decided to put them to use. I do have to admit that it works though, and I am sure they probably got the inexpensive version of the swivel mount, don't know if they used Amazon or not though!!

My DW made a quilted cover lined with microfiber cloth. I cover it and cinch it down with a surfboard strap. Not going anywhere.

You could use a Velcro strap to hold the TV in place. We are going to put a 32' in the living room and that is what I am thinking about.

Good ideas, I may steal one or more of them

Even with the spell-checker, I can't spell, had to add an 'e'

Bingo, you are 'Spot on' as the English say.

I changed out my 30" for a 36" tv in my SOB (MH) and I used the articulating arm. Some modifications had to be done to the area. My tv is in the middle of the SOB. I moved the brace back and used 1-1/2" aluminum angle iron as the bottom brace. Using aluminum for the top was not feasible because the aluminum angle iron "gave" to much. So I used the bottom brace for a 2X6 to sit on. Then the Articulating arm was bolted to the bottom brace and the top 2x6. The original bracing was moved back to allow for the tv to fit into the slot, just enough to secure it. My first secure was to place one of those nylon straps tied to the back mount and just bring it across the screen and snap in place. I use some foam padding for the very corners where the strap comes around the tv. I subsequently placed another strap of velcro around the 1/3 bottom of the tv, just as an added security. I've been driving down the highway for over a year with this configuration with no problems.

I have pictures somewhere if anyone is interested. I'm sure that the holes and areas that you have to do your are similar in design.

Edited: Found some Pictures Of tv Mod on another forum if you are interested. You can see the articulating arm.

Jim F (freezing his ???? off in Athol. MA) was the major carpenter on this project.

My Mountaineer has the mounts you pictured Ozz. They have the mentioned strap to secure it while in motion. The eyes for the strap are at the base of the mount. It holds very securely.

Jim, we also have that mount except we have the heavier one. I figured with the potential stress of bouncing down the road I'd like the stouter mount. The TV, however, is a 32 inch flat screen. I built a mount inside the tv cabinet to mount the fully articulating arm to. For travel, I mounted a couple of buckle straps with plastic non-marring buckles to the upper and lower edges of the cabinet. The go around the tv and hold it in place very nicely. I also braced the cabinet ceiling panel and floor panel and used some 2x4's under the floor, along the edges, for additional support.

This setup has been in place for three years this month with no problems. Come on out and I'll show you.

Steve, both of these mounts are rated for my flat screens weight. My Tv's are 32"
The $125.00 Best buy is rated for 60#, my Amazon is rated for 65#, but I would love to travel out to see yours
