Mounting flat screen TV?
We bought a 2006 3400(Challenger 34RLQ) with out a TV and would like to mount a flat screen. I know how the old TV'S mounted with long screws that went into the TV plastic frame but don't know how the Flat screens are mounted. Will I need to buy a wall bracket for mounting or is there another way?
Thanks,
5ER (Rodger)

I mounted a flat screen to a piece of plywood and attached the wood to the side of the opening with a piano hinge.

I mounted my 26" LCD on a slide out drawer with storage behind the face. I think it will work all right. If you want to see the photos on the install look at the link in my signature.

We replaced our broken original TV with a flat screen model. We didn't mount it at all. We built shelves behind it where my wife stores all her DVDs and VHS tapes. When we travel, she pushes the TV back up against the shelves (holds the items in place) and places pillows in front of the TV. When the slides are in, we place two dining chairs upside down in the pathway between the two slides. The legs from the chairs snugly hold the pillows in place. TV travels well. When we arrive at our destination, Marge puts the slides out, removes the pillows from in front of the TV and pulls the TV out to the front of the TV cavity.

Larry,
I like what you did adding the drawer but I would be located in a Campground so I am looking for a mounting method using a minimum of tools. I would like to see how Keystone mounts flat screens in new models.

Rodger, I just changed both my TV's with flat screens. A 25" in the bedroom and a 32" in the front room. I decided I wanted to use the TV's at the stick house and in he 5'er when we travel. Made a very simple and totally portable mount. I attached 2 pieces of, 3/4"X1/2"X3/4" aluminum c channel on the back of the televisions using the same holes one would use for a regular wall mount bracket. Drill holes through both sides of the "C" big enough for the thread end of the screw to fit through then enlarge the hole on outside of the c channel so the head will go through it. I then mounted two pieces of 2" X 1/8" aluminum flat stock to the wood facing spaced the same distance apart as the channels on the back of the TV's. Lift the TV's with the "C" channel above the flat stock and lower it down. When we travel we take the TV's down and let them ride on the bed. Takes about two minutes to hook each one up when we arrive at our destination. Will try to add pictures later but hope this explanation gives you an idea. Jim

Jim, I would like to see a picture if you could. I get the idea but they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks.
