Never miss the opportunity . . .

I am at Walmart in today placing my purchases in my car. I see a homeless man pushing a shopping cart with his belongings in it. He walks up to an empty potato chip bag laying on the ground in the parking lot, he picks it up, shakes out the crumbs into his hand and eats them. Touched by what I just saw, I walked up to him, pulled out my wallet and gave him all the cash I had. His eyes opened wide, a big smile replace his frown and he told me thank you. I smiled then walked away. Be thankful for what you have today.

Never miss the opportunity to help someone in need.

Happy New Year

Good for you. We like to help when we see the need. Unfortunately, here in Yuma there are beggers on most corners and many of them are doing it for a living not trying to get by. Watched one near the shopping center a couple of days ago running with his cane in hand to get to his spot on the corner. When you see what you saw, you know it's real and what you did was a great thing.

Hi

When I see them on the side of the road with a sign needing money for food I just tell them I will take them to the nearest fast food place and feed them.

Most decline but the few that take me up on it are really hungry.

That is an extremely good way to start out the new year. Based on your profession it was also probably a very natural, automatic act for you to do. You observed first hand someone in genuine obvious need and you stepped up. Many folks would not do that if in the same situation my friend.
