Wood Floor over Black/Gray Water tank?

I am planning on adding the filter behind the water center and relocate the water pump into the same area. (To reduce the noise level into the coach).

I have not pulled up the carpet in the basement as of yet to look, so I want to ask if there is a sheet of plywood covering the black and gray tanks? Has anyone looked or dealt with this at all?

Thanks for everyone's mods, I plan on adopting a few for myself, pending $$ available!

bw2,

Typically, the tanks are accessed from underneath (belly).

The pump is also on the topside in the basement, not under the plywood, but in an access panel in the basement, there are two.

I would suggest that the sediment filter be placed BEFORE the intake of the trailer, then a micron filter at the kitchen sink. That way, no sand or debris can clog up your faucets. The micron filter at the sink can filter out contaminants. We do a third filter for drinking water by using a Brita.

Hope this helps.

BW2, I think your concern is when you relocate the water pump are you going to drive the hold down screws into the top of the tanks or is there plywood over the top to screw into? I don't know the answer. Here is what I did to quiet the pump. I had purchased a dense foam rubber mat that I cut up to make insulator mats to put between the feet of my kingpin stablizer and the ground. Took a spare piece of that and cut it to fit under the pump. My pump was only held down with 2 out of the 4 screws. Also don't tighten the screws too much as compressing the rubber will defeat the cushioning you are trying to achieve.
