AC freezing up again
What's happening ?
In the evening the AC in my 5 month old Mountaineer started to freeze up. I took the return vent off and saw the coils were icing, so I turn the Unit off for a few minutes and then restarted it and it was working fine when we went to bed.
The next morning the Unit is not working and I find the AC breaker has tripped.
Reset the breaker and the Ac worked fine
The AC seems to work when it is hot in the middle of the day, but may freeze up at night. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you running the fan on low speed? Dometic A/C's are noted for freezing up with fan on low. This may not be your problem but try
running the fan on high.

Filters are clean, and AC was set on AUTO, I will try running unit on high fan and in Fan mode instead of Auto. My trailer is at my deer/camp lease but I will going back soon.
I will look at the sensor as well. I have read that the sensor should be positioned just under the middle of the coils and not pushed in too far or not far enough. I guess the temp probe should be touching the coils.

As Charlie said, the DuoTherm AC units are infamous for freezing up on low fan speed, especially in humid weather. We've had no freezeups since running exclusively on high fan.

Also take the grill off and see if you have voids where air can come up into the return. You my have to duck tap those areas up so there are no spaces where air can get up into coil area. But running on high solves most of the problems.

Also, do not use the "quick cool" function, if the unit is prone to freezing up. The quick cool grates dump cold air out right at the return vent. The cold air is quickly sucked back in, and freezes the coils quickly. I use the quick cool only when the unit is first turned on, and then close it for normal use. When closed, the cold air is expelled from the vents, which are not as close to the return inlet.
