The i.s. is for the trailer replacing axles with true independent suspension. $4500 to 6700 depending on level of product...ie, 7k or 8k system, disc brakes, bearing quality.

Our andersen pin box and trailair hitch suck! Haven't had a decent ride since we got it. Any suggestions?

Which Trailair Hitch? I could be mistaken but I believe they aren't meant to work together.

I have a basic LCI pin box, Andersen Hitch, and Air Bags. That combo works very well for us.

I think the 2020 came with Road Armor pin box.

If that's the case then my understanding is that Andersen wants you to buy the lock-out for that pin box plate for it to work well with their Hitch

I remember seeing something about that but but I think that is the Rota-Flex pin box.

Traveling from northern CA to FL there were a bunch of places (mostly CA and MS) where the sections of the road seamed to be perfect for going up and down, my thought is air bags may take some of that out. Had no problem through AZ, NM, TX at 75, but other than that it was bouncy.

I have recommended them to a few Ford fans I'm friends with and they hailed thier praises as well.
I have the same exact truck as the OP (18 GMC HD3500) and also solved most of my chucking and bouncing issues by going with a very cost effective and easy to install Timbren system on the rear of the truck (20 min install) and an Andersen hitch. My fully loaded HC pin weight is in the 2600 lb range and the Timbren's really helped with the deep bouncing over rough patches and bridges on the Interstate. The Andersen hitch totally eliminated all chucking. I recommend first trying the Timbren's, or airbags, before changing the hitch.

Not sure what your doing but it`s not the equipment. Might want to post up the details of your set up including truck specs and tires and define "sucks".

Check out Road Master Spring Assists...they help the ride when underload and when not.

Timbren shocks

Having gone to Alaska and back in 2017, I too, did not like the bounce that would often come when crossing over different road levels. I added the Timbren shocks and have been very pleased with the elimination of that bounce.

My Montana came with the Morryde Hitch and it pulls quite well.

Is there a conflict when air bags are on a rig that has an air bladder as part of the hitch? It would seem that one would get bounce against bounce, like two balloons against each other.

I don`t know I have both and run the bags at 30lbs and the pin at 90 to 100 lbs and seems to be a real nice ride without bouncing. Maybe less air would do that, never tried it.

I can't imagine that configuration being a problem. The two aren't in contact with each other and are absorbing slightly different kinds of shock. The truck air bags are absorbing shock from the road, smoothing the ride for the passengers, while the hitch bag is absorbing shock from the truck as the truck and trailer wrestle for equilibrium and minimizing impact to the trailer. With proper PSI's I see the outcome being only positive.

U know its funny that if u just lower tire pressure from say....85lbs to 75 lbs....WoW much less bouncing. I just moved my 38' 5th wheel w/85 and inside the coach everything got tossed around a LOT !

But there's a bigger risk with that. The trailer and tire manufacturers recommend running the tires are full PSI to minimize risk of blowout. Lower pressure puts more stress on the sidewalls. JMHO

head hurts

There`s a weight/ air pressure chart on here some where and if you KNOW the weight of your trailer ready to travel you can lower the pressure to the weight carried. At some point I weighed the unit at full load and the chart says I can safely run at 95lbs on 110lb Saluins. I`m sure it makes a difference to the stuff inside the unit. But after a time the TMP monitor says the pressure rises to 102-103 on a warm day on the sunny side. YMwillV

Ok I have the Legacy model with disk brakes. I need to look at the axles closer to know if I have IS.
