Portable ice maker

We are cconsidering the purchase of a portable ice maker for our Monty. Would like to hear from anyone who has one of these and what brands are available. Thank you...

We got ours just recently from Home Depot. It's by Magic Chef, but many of them look exactly like this one and I suspect they are made by the same manufacturer and then different brand names put on them.

We like it just fine, now we'll see how well it keeps up on the road for cooler needs? For consumption in drinks it should be more than adequate.

We also got the Magic Chef from Home Depot... works great. the bigest problem with these things is where to put it. We keep ours in the closet since we have the washer/dryer in the washer/dryer area. Just spent the last 4 days at Percy Quin State Park in McComb, MS with 100 deg days. We make some ice to put in the freezer/ice chest and fixed most of our drinks right out of the ice maker. Don't think you can go wrong with one of these units.

The brand we have is called an "edgestar"Most all of these ice makers are just about the same as the other brands. We love it for the fact it makes ice fast and frees up space in your freezer. The draw back is their heavy but thats no biggy for us any way.We keep ours right next to the island kitchen right on the floor. It stays their while traveling also.We have found that the small setting makes more ice quicker.
