Our vote is that David Cook will be the next American Idol.

Carly and Michael John being booted from the show ruined it for me. I was sure it would be those two and David Cook coming down the stretch.
Now I don't think it's even a contest anymore.
I just wanna slap Jason...he can't believe it himself that he's still in it, and now he's just rubbing everyone's nose in the poo he's leaving all over the stage.

Jason will leave when the cell phone batteries die. Today, again, he was the talk of the high school. Duh--like you said, even he is shocked that he's still there.

David Cook has star quality. David Archuleta does, too, but he's not quite as versatile as David C., in my opinion. Syesha has talent, but to me, it's more "Broadway" talent than Idol talent. Still, she's good. About that dress . . .

My money is on David Cook for true Idol talent. Still, all those teenagers panting over Jason are a cause for concern.

I'd take David and Syesha as the last two standing, but just don't think it is going to go that way.

My thoughts are as of now David Cook should be the winner. I think David Archuletta is a talented signer... for a Disney movie soundtrack.

Syesha, way to go! What a fantastic voice. What great range.

She's a winner even if she looses.

Randy doesn't know what he is talking about on this one.

Paula recognizes a future star. This singer is going to get her dream.
She recovered very well from her tears.

My daughter's dance studio's recitals were last weekend, so I was up to my eyeballs in glitter and glue all week, 18 hours a day, helping her get ready for it. So, Idol came and went last week, and even though I recorded both shows, I only had time to watch the first round, not the elimination. However, I knew immediately after hearing Jason-with-Dreadlocks that he needed to start packing. I was right, so my students said.

Now for my prediction about the 3 finalists: Good-bye, Syesha. I think she's lost touch with what the show is about--IDOL, not Broadway star. She'll do fine in musicals, but as an American Idol, no way. Actually, I didn't like a lot about tonight's show. The contestants had no control over two of the three songs they each sang, so I wasn't too critical about those selections. However, I thought all 3 picked lousy songs when they could pick a song of their choice. Even David Cook, whom I think is a super star, blew his choice a bit. It's one thing to pick a "different" song, but it's quite something else to be so self-indulgent that you pick something so esoteric, so off the beaten path, that you lose your audience. I thought that's what all 3 candidates did.

Well, at this stage the voters no doubt have their minds fairly well made up anyway, so missteps on anyone's part probably won't change anyone's opinion.

I predict: Syesha will go, the battle will be between the Davids, and David Cook will emerge as the 2008 American Idol next week.

I bet David Cook is the next AI. Archuleta will be first runner up. Sorry Syesha.

I agree about David Cook winning it all. David Archuleta is still "High School Hottie #2" (after Jason Castro), but my girls say he's too clean, so they don't vote for him. Go figure. As the mother of 2 formerly teenage girls, I say there's no such thing as TOO CLEAN when it comes to 17-year-old boys!!!

All hail David Cook--the crown is coming.

We were out with friends last evening and I missed it. Using cable hook up because Sat is not working and I don't have a VCR or DVD recorder in the Hanna yet - it's coming.

Earlene said last week that Syesha would be the next to go.
She has a wonderful voice, but broadway is not AI - as stated.

I hope it is David Cook.

I think Syesha is good but she played the sexy card too much last night in her second song (Fever). In fact I think she went too far for the judges who were unusually cold toward her. For me, I am getting awful tired of the pop-tart, shake your booty, substitution for good entertainment. Being attractive is one thing, being crudely suggestive is another. Dave C. showed his ability and maturity again. He sings like he means it. His rendition of the First Time Ever I Saw your Face had me and the DW feeling warm and fuzzy. You could see the same effect all over the audience last night. Dave A. has a good voice but he seems to use several techniques in every song almost mechanically. I just get a feeling of synthetic music. He could sing pure nonsense lines of jumbled words because the lines and words are delivered without passion simply musical technique.
