If it is just damage to the rubber membrane, use EternaBond products (tape, etc.) to repair the area. If it is structural beneath the membrane, that presents a different animal that may require removal of the roof membrane to access the roof structure.

I think you really need to get a dealer to look at it. Some roof repairs that require the removal and replacement of the membrane can really hit the pocketbook hard and should be covered by Insurance. I would strongly recommend if there is structural damage (walls or roof support) to have a professional at least make a recommendation on how to proceed. I think this can be one of those situations where it is imperative that the repairs be done properly in order to prevent long-term damage that can arise from water infiltration. This is only my opinion and is based on your description without any pictures of hte damage.

I did the same thing and slightly crushed a little (a few feet) of the Aluminum radius corner under the rubber roof membrane which was torn loose for about a foot and abraded.
Dealer convinced me to use my insurance. New roof with another layer of thin luan plywood (much stronger now) and vent covers cost $5786 total. Insurance covered almost all of it.

A few years ago on a different unit I had a small cut(less than 2 inches) from a tree. Insurance covered all but the deductable with no questioning of the need. Dealer and insurance both agreed to whole rubber roof had to be replaced and repair would be temporary otherwise. about $5,000.

I had a limb fall out of a tree and go thru the roof of my 3650RK last fall. It made a hole about 6" in diameter and it went all the way thru into the kitchen. Insurance replaced the entire roof. Total cost was just under 7K.

I crushed about 12 feet of the radius in the Seattle KOA--not big rig friendly! Well--insurance picked up most of the $5800 repair bill except for my deductible. The Monty is in the shop now and hope to be back in a few weeks.

Thanks Much to all..I was able to purchasethe metal radius corner for under the rubber roof membrane ( about 12 feet) from our dealer, and the other necessary parts to repair.. Looks like I will be able to fix almost as good new for about $160.00.. So far it has been a pice of cake to make the repair.

Jerry just make sure you get everythign in writing from the dealer before you agree to let them do the work. My dealer came back almost a year later and said part of my work was still not paid. I called the insurance comapny after the 6th letter in the mail and she let him know how to add and subtract. I had the entire rood and the radius on the drivers side replaced. The total cost was just under $6000

We got our 2006 Monty home last week. The entire rubber roof was replaced along with the 12 feet of radius I crushed. Cost $5800. Makes the Monty look NEW! Ready for the next trip. By the way, I did use EtrnaBond for the temporary fix and it kept out the rain for about 6 weeks and 1500 miles on the road.
