I have been following this thread about darco repair:
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...8&goto=newpost
And decided to check out my living room slide. I found that 6 screws on the exterior bottom of my slide were not countersunk properly when the rig was made in 2002. That caused damage to both ends of the wear bar. Subsequently the darco on both ends frayed and ripped.
I was going to use ChuckS' UHMW fix, but because the entire beveled edge of the darco was frayed, I decided Slide Ski's would be a better fix. Wear bar was not replaced, and the ski's don't seem to mind. Last picture is with the ski installed.
I will be using ChuckS UHMW repair on my kitchen slide. I repaired it with 1/8" thick 1 inch wide self adhesive UHMW tape a few years ago. Strips try to bunch up when slide is moved since it is sticking to the darco.
