Lippert slide out creeping out 2” on a Montana

I have a 2017 Montana that one hydraulic slide out will creep out 2” in the winter. I also have a passenger side rear jack that will not fully retract in auto retract.

Lippert said I have a hydraulic cylendar that is leaking down slowing the slide out to slip out and the rear jack is an issue with one of the jacks leaking in bypass telling the system is has reached max pressure which his how it knows the jacks are retracted. So I have a bypass leak which can be one of the leveling jacks, 6-8 jacks and any cylinder on the slide outs that are internal to the coach. Seems hard to diagnose and expensive. Anyone have this issue and any ideas?

Thanks John

Call Keystone. They have a method of testing to tell if it is the slide cylinder or relief valve. Mine turned out to be a slide cylinder. I was in Butte Mt. 3 weeks getting it fixed. Pain in the a**, but keystone did fix it.

I was lucky. Our slide ram was lealing and found it at the rally. Mark Krol had Lippert come out and fix it in a day.

I've had good results chatting with Lippert tech support about problems with our slide-outs.

https://www.lci1.com/support/

then click on the chat window that pops up in the lower right corner.

Lippert slide out leak

Thank you for your response. Do you know if the center room slideout cylinder is under the coach or in the slideout?

Wondering how I can access it.

Thanks

John

If it's like our 3400RL, it's under the coach. You have to drop the coroplast to access it.

Yes. On the newer units they nailed it up. On our older one, they used #14 x 1.5" self tapping screws.

I think most used a nail puller to remove them and then reinstalled the coroplast with the screws. When putting the screws back in, a corded bit driver works best to have more torque to get them in.

Pull them out with a pry bar. Put it back with self taping screws and fender washers.

Lippert access

Thank you so much for the advice I thought that might be the case. I guess they have to chose fast ways to attach the shield.

Thank you everyone,

You may or may not have both the leveler and slide hyd actuator leaking internally... there is a simple procedure to test the levelers out that won’t require dropping the colorplast...

https://www.lci1.com/images/support/lipsheet/0076.pdf

Also before doing the above tests I would reccomend you due a bleed on the system... it’s very simple to do and you may have some air in the system...

Also by doing the bleed test first you will exercise the seals as well as open and close the actuator solenoid valves mounted on the manifold. A tad of garbage could have gotten into the system causing the slide out solenoid valve to slightly stick...

https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/...Pump_Units.pdf

To me the bleed is worth a try before doing anything else..

It is self bleeding....per say... follow this link and run slides and leveling system as PDF outlines....have someone observe the hyd reservoir while doing this bleed procedure... if bubbles are seen in the fluid then you had air in the system.....
