problem with slide

Had a small problem with the livingroom slide. When my sis was putting it out it stopped half way out. I told her to try it again and it worked.

Got to the campground and slides worked just fine. Time to leave and the livingroom slide stuck half way in. Tried to do the allen wrench thing in motor but no room to use a standard drill and my right angle was at home.

Finally got a crescent wrench and turned the bar under the slide to get it in. This caused one of the other slides to open part way. Tried the switch again and it worked.

Stopped by the dealer on the way home to make an appointment to have it fixed and the service guy said oh yeah that is a common problem. Said just add this little braker to the system and it should solve the problem.

I will try it this weekend and see if it fixes it.

Has anyone else had this problem and what was done to fix it?

Yes, my slide was stopping part of the way out or in. The in-line circuit breaker was getting weak. When we stopped and waited for a few seconds before operating the switch the slide would operate again. I replaced the circuit breaker and all is well, now.

Same problem here. Sometimes (but not always) the slides will stop. I release the switch and wait a few seconds and then they go again. Sometimes they will stop a second time. I wait again, and then they will go the rest of the way. I guess I need to replace my breaker also.

I have a 3400RL and the breaker is on the front wall in the front storage, behind the hydraulic pump & reservoir. It is a rectangle box. You can trace the wire from the pump electrical connection. I purchased a spare as well. Any RV dealer that sells parts should have them. Check the amperage, mine was a 40 amp, some have had 30 amp, and I believe someone indicated theirs was a 50 amp.

When I mentioned it to my dealer I sort of got the impression that this is a common problem. After reading all the post on this forum, it is a common problem. Keystone recommends a breaker of the same amperage as the original placed in parallel. They added it to mine and now the slides come in and go out without stopping. Mine are 50 amp circuit breakersh.

You may also want to get an AGC Breaker to replace the fuse in the landing gear line. It's in the front compartment also, and is covered by a rubber holder. The breaker can be picked up and Auto Zone or similar auto parts store.

I think this must be a significant problem because this is the third thread I have seen on it. I too had the problem and you can replace your circuit breaker or as suggested by someone else install a second circuit breaker in parallel. I did it and the slide has not stuck since. John

I have had an ongoing saga. A new 50 amp breaker did not solve the problem. My breaker trips once coming in and zero time going out. i am carrying a spare breaker.

Happened to speak to a Camping World service tech installing carpet in the campground today. Sez he, drop the underbelly to lubricate the working gears, back where you can't see.

But do not lubricate the rails you see outside per the tech, and the manufacturer says the same about no lube on the rails.
