Dixie Caverns, VA

Stopped for the night at Dixie Caverns, VA, campground. Did not arrive in time to see the caverns, but have been to the Natural Caverns in Texas. (Seen one, seen 'em all!)

The CG spaces are close together. The roadway is gravel/crushed rock. Sites are not level. One 2x12 took care of the side to side. I had to unhook to be able to lower the front to get it level. I did not quite extend far enough to retract to level, so I'm at the limit for lowering. I did not want to hook up again and readjust. Hey, it's only one night!

Looking Northward, they sure are proud of them thar CG's in the North. You can tell by the prices.

Waynem,

We have done a one nighter there too. That funky entrance they have there managed to catch the bottom edge of the aluminum cover on my rear bumper. It bent it just a tiny bit and I was able to bend it back. My 35'8" travel trailer was just the right length and height to be a problem. I've never had a problem anywhere else. And yes, they do think a lot of those cmapgrounds up north.
