HELP--Albuquerque Balloon Festival

We would like to attend the balloon festival this fall. Does anyone have any advice on a good place to stay? Are there any good spots to view the balloons without going to the launch site? What is the on site camping like? Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help

It's a spectacular sight, you won't forget it. We camped in the designated campground, which is right across the street from the launch field, and most days all the balloons came right over our campsite. If you do want to go to the launch field, there are shuttle busses that run all day to the major events. Get your reservations in early, they seem to fill up pretty fast.
Also, the end farthest away from the launch field (south, I think) is higher ground than most of the campsites. Valuable info if it rains. We saw a lot of folks wading after a heavy downpour last year.

Here is another site put out by a New Mexico RV Association that suggests it lists every RV park/campground in the state:

Thanks for the replies. We have made reservations to stay on site, it'll make getting to the fields much easier,no traffic to fight.
