Hope you like it. Are you working the summer or going for the season this fall?

Just what I was going to ask Dick! I would think it would be a little warm down there in Mesa during the summer. Would definitely need that second A/C!!

We usually get to Mesa around the end of October and leave sometime in April. We are not working in the summer. We have a home in Colorado.

Is it a paid position or a volunteer one and what will be your jobs? Hope you don't mind the questions. We will be looking for a different place to work after this summer.

Hi Scott....Towerpoint is a Cal-Am resort in Mesa. This will be the 3rd Cal-Am park we have worked for and all offer the same compensation...site with full hookups, including electric, water and sewer. All hours are calculated and paid at the current minimum wage. Twice a month you receive a pay stub so you can see how much you've been paid and how much they've sent in for any applicable taxes. Any amount left over is used to offset the cost of your space...you do not receive any of the money. At the end of the year they send you a W2 and you report that on your federal tax return. Each park has required you to work 24 hours a week for an individual or 12 hours each for a couple in the same RV. This method of pay works for some and others have been completely turned off by the fact that they send you a W2 at the end of the year. Each park we worked in offered first class amenities. We've worked for ELS (Encore) parks also. They actually pay you an hourly wage that you receive twice a month. However, you have to pay a portion of your site and utilities back to them.
Where have you been working?

Hi Scott. I forgot to tell you what we will be doing at Towerpoint. We are scheduled to work in the courtyard keeping it tidy....chairs straightened, tables washed off in the morning, and also cleaning/straightening up chairs around the pool area.
Our job assignments at the other Cal Am parks were in activities putting up tables and chairs as needed for daily activities. Also, one year we worked in landscaping...planted and maintained the flower gardens around the park. Hope this helps.

2Campers: Thanks for the info. We are currently working for a contractor for the Corp. of Engineers as Campground Hosts in Tennessee during the summer. This is our 2nd summer doing this and we really love it, but unfortunately this position is probably going to a bid process next year and we are not sure if we want to go that route. Might be looking for something else to do next year and checking different avenues.
