Bedroom Slide Repaired

We picked up our Monty from the dealer yesterday. They replaced the Bedroom slide cylinder on warranty from Lippert. The slide had moved back tight against back edge seal and they figured the front seal was to loose to seal so they centered the slide again. They said that it should stop the slide from leaking. I told them that if DW gets up in the morning and gets wet feet again she will visiting them and she would be very unhappy. I think this is was one of the best threat to make sure they do good work.

Hookman,

I responded to your other post on yur slide problem. If you still have need to see my pics and what I did with my slide, let me know or respond back to this thread.

My pics will show the adjustments. up, down, in and out and skew correction.

They used to be on an archive post but tinypic deleted them since I posted them in 2006.

Tom,

I would be very interested to see what you did to adjust yours. I am having problems with my bedroom slide tightly sealing when it is in the retracted position. The top seal does not seal as tightly as the bottom so I assume there is a skew problem.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't think it's a skew problem. By skew I mean the slide appears to be tilted or slanted when you observe the slide while retracted. Another problem might be one side pulls tight and the other does not. The actuator pulls at the bottom of slide so nothing pulls the top portion in. So what you describe may be normal. If you adjust too much to seal at the bottom it you could cause damage to the slide. Also if you pull the bottom in too much it may push the top out so you might try various adjustments while checking it with a high pressure hose to get an ideal adjustment.

Tom

I don't want to hijack hookmans thread so I will start a new one and call it Slide Repair. Will send you a PM when I have it posted. May take a day or so to get everything together.
