Dometic fridge handle latch broke

I was wanderin if any other MOCers had the latch break off the handle on the fride door? ours broke off where it flexes, bummer! Ordered one from Dometic, kinda pricey little part! Just wanderin if this happens after 500 or so open/close or just my luck! Thanx as always.

We've broken four of them on two refrigerators. On ours, the spring broke. Were covered under warranty and extended warranty on both refrigerators. Our extended warranty is for six years, parts and labor. One of the things we have to remember is that these appliances are meant for use in "campers" and not for full time living. So I take it in stride and live with it.

kinda what I thought! Just another thing on the list of "take it in stride and live with it" Seems to be alot of those now aren`t there! Oh well we are still smilin

As I recall, you can purchase those handles at Camping World where Dometics are repaired. I don't remember what I was quoted for price, but I don't think it was exorbitant. Since we were on extended warranty we got them free.

I called Dometic this week about something. Dometic told me the frig has a three year warranty and to take it to a dealer. So I visited a dealer and he ordered the part under warranty.
This warranty is beyond the Keystone warranty. My Monty is 16 months old.
The dealer did say that the frig has a 2 years parts and labor and the third year is for parts. Do fill out that warranty card and send in or you will lose the third year parts deal.
