More places to check

Dianna reported that one of the three 12VDC lights above our lavatory was about to fall out. On checking it, I found that there is a nut on top of the fixture that had loosened. At least on the Big Sky there seems to be a need to constantly check loosening light fixtures. Guess I will have to add that to my setup check list. As we all know, there is always some little something to do on these rigs.

Would you elaborate, please?

Thanks,

Put some "BLUE" Loctite thread lock on the threads and they will never come off again until you wnat them to come off.
You can back the nut off and use a toothpick to put some loctite on it.

To elaborate, there are 3 12v lamps in the light fixture above the lavatory. Each lamp is held in place by a nut on top of the fixture. Vibration had loosened that nut on one of the three lamps. It was loose enough that the bulb was dangling. That is what I tightened.

In general, vibration can loosen just about any of the fixtures in the coach. So I was suggesting that a regular check of these fixtures may be in order. This includes both the 110V and the 12V lighting. Waynem's suggestion about loctite sounds like a good one. Others have suggested Teflon tape.

Above average use such as we long timers and full timers give these things require more maint and checking. We have had light fixtures come loose, Wiring vibrate loose. Right now one of the lights over the bed is not working and on the way down to Florida the light fixture on the side wall here at the PC desk fell out of the wall. All part of rv'ing.
