Yesterday we traveled from Sacramento to Squaw Valley and Sugar Pine Point State Park to participate in the American Volksport Convention walks. After doing the walks to of our traveling friends attempted to travel south on California 89 to US 50 to return to Sacramento. The intersection of US 50 and State 89 was closed due to the fires in this area.
Hopefully everyone else in this area is safe. We heard that some people staying in an RV park in this area had to evacuate without their rigs. This is UNVERIFIED. However, during our walks, we saw how dry the land was and realize how susceptible this entire area is to potential fires.
