Fort Worth, TX

We leave in the morning for a week or so around Fort Worth. We need to be on the north side of Fort Worth, east of Eagle Mountain Lake. I am having trouble finding a nice park. Found a couple, but they are gravel roads, with grass parking area. Any of the TX Tana owners know of a good park in that particular area?

We are staying in Grapevine, Texas at a very nice new park. I'd even go so far to say it is among the nicest parks we have stayed at since we started fulltiming a year ago. Price is a litle less than $30 a night, no breaks for lomg term stay.

Thank you so much Brant. We just made reservations for mid March. They even have a 20% discount for seniors over 62. We chose site 20 If you think that one is a mistake, could you let us know?

I'll go take a look at site 20 today and let you know.

We are in site 9 until Friday, coming back in January for a few more days.

I didn't even know that Grapevine had grape vines! I think we visited the Bass Pro shop there and it's awesome!

Site 20 is a nice, level site. All sites I've looked at are blacktop, and very roomy.

We stayed in the Eagle Resorts near Eagle Mtn. Lake. Now, I've yet to figure the "Resort" part of the place. All gravel, no sewer hookup on the lot we had. They have a "honey wagon" to pump your tank once a week. Most lots have sewer, but of the three available, none had it. One had no hookups at all. Most of the rigs in there are older, and folks have their junk stored outside. Oh, and BTW, don't count on that "walk to the lake for fishing distance" they advertise. The lske is surrounded by private property. It's tolerable to stay in, but the North Fort Worth area could sure stand a good RV park. Just for your info.

We have stayed at Thousand Trails at Lake Texoma, TX (North of Dallas0

Side thought: Your posting sure takes up a lot of space. There appears to be a type mark way down at the bottom.

Just noticed that. Must have hit another key or something when posting. First time I've had that happen. Oh well.

Slickwillie, if you hit the pencil icon at the top of your post, a new window will pop up and then you can delete that type mark and the spaces between it and your post, if you like. Merry Christmas!

We have just returned from a visit to Fort Worth. We stayed two nights is the "Treetops RV Park" which is one of the nicest we have ever visited. It is on the South side of Arlington/Fort Worth, and would not meet the request of SlickWillie, but I would highly reccomend it. It is just far enough north of I-20 to avoid any highway noice, but near enough for convenient access to go anywhere in the D/FW metroplex. We would have stayed longer, but they had reservations that made that impossible.

So we moved on about a mile further north on Cooper Street to the KOA. It is also a nice park but clearly not up to the senic quality of Treetops, and it is MUCH more expensive (about twice as much). We stayed another two nights there.

In need, either park would be completely acceptable, but the Treetops is by far the better bargain and overall more desirable. Besides the Cracker Barrel restaurant is nearby!

I've heard Treetops is a nice park. Thanks for the report.
