Rabbits chewing on shore cord

While putting the shore cord away, I noticed chew marks on the shore cord. Has anyone had this happen to them. Rabbit population has exploded this year around here. Any ideas on how to keep them away other than my Ruger 10/22?

Cayenne pepper in water, spray on cord. Don't rub your eyes after touching the cord. I heard ammona works as well but dissipates off over time. Moth balls around where the cord lays. Just a few will do. They hate moth ball. Jim

Don't know about rabbits. But rodents of some kind chewed wire and vacuum hoses on my previous truck, three times for about $400 each time. Mothballs and fox urine did nothing. Bought Critter Ridder at Home Depot and sprayed all wires and vacuum hoses. No more problem. Made from extracts of several different hot peppers. Might give that a try.

Last year my wife swore rabbits were getting up in the engine of our old 94 Toyota P/U. I did not believe her. One day when I got home from work she asked me to open the hood. There was old "Peter" sitting on the valve covers. Had to replace all the spark plug wires.

This is unbelievable!! Critter Ridder is what I use in my veggie garden and seems to work pretty good.

Whoa! I handle my cord way too many times to ever do this one. I'd hate to have to think about putting gloves on every time I touch the cord...

10 22= dinner. There is almost no rabbits here anymore. I would love to be able to take a couple beagles my 20 gage and go rabbit hunting again.

Wire insulation today is a soy product so animals love it.

Don't Worry. They will stop as soon as they bite into the hot wire.
