How do you blow out lines?
I've read a lot about using a compressor to blow out your water lines but I don't have any idea how to do that. - Where do I hook up the air line to the trailer?
- What fitting do I put on my compressor that will fit a water line?
- What do I do about a whole-house water filtration system I'm about to install?

Put a by pass on the filters. They will need to be removed. Also, use low pressure to blow out.
Good luck.

I use one of these:
You connect it to the city water. I have a little sears air compressor for tires, I connect the end onto the plug and open each valve 1 after the other.
But, don't have all valves close at once, let the air flow from at least 1 valve at all times.
And no more than 40 PSI.
And yes, a bypass valve and hose for the hole house filter.
Where do you have your whole house filter mounted at?

I use the same fitting as Tom & Sharon. I use a canister compressor and I set the regulator to 30-35 psi. Instead of bypassing the in-line house filter I just remove the filter and empty the canister, then screw it back on. You could find a plumbing fitting to cap the filter if need be. In my case my filter is permanently attached (screwed to the SOB), so just removing the filter does the trick for me. When I'm finished blowing the lines I empty any residual from the filter canister.

I use the same fitting as Tom and Sharon and just use my small 12volt tire compressor also. I hook it up, turn on one faucet at a time to clear that line and continue with the others will all are done. Open your stool valve also to clear that line. Don't forget to close your water heater bypass and at the end open your low point drain lines to make sure the lines are all cleared. If you have an outside shower, don't forget to clear that line also.

I cut off a piece of hose (the male end) attach to city water fitting. I have a blow tip with a rubber nosel that fits into the hose. DW is inside opens one side of each fixture at a time untill air is comes out. We talk to each other using house phone intercom on speaker do to compessor noise. It takes about 20 min. Good luck Jack

I've ordered all the parts from rvwaterfilters.com and should have everything in a few days. I plan to install it in the basement next to the water/drain service area. I'll post pictures of the installation when I've completed it.

Try this link: http://www.keystonerv.com/?page=video_library and select the "Winterize your RV" video. Step by step instruction on how to do it properly.

I made up a fitting that screws on to the city water fitting and a air hose coupling on the other end. I hook up the air hose, with the compressor set at 25psi. Then I can go at my pace and open the desired outlet. This not only aids in winterizing but I can check for any leaks. If the compressor does not kick in I know that the lines are holding air.
