Dmaxdually, Only thing that seems weird to me is your front axle weight? You say it is 3,200 pounds? My 4x4 dually weighs in at 5460 pounds on the front axle only when I am not pulling. Just when my truck is fully loaded? Seems weird that you are 2,260 pounds lighter in the front? I know mine is a 4x4, which probably adds 500 pounds to the front? My rear axle is 4,040 when not towing. Sorry, I am so ito numbers lately, just worried about my 21,000 pound GVWR of my new 5th wheel I am getting. Empty weight is 18,000 pounds!

vipermanden, My mistake. My front axle weight was 5200 lbs on the scale. My dually is also a 4x4

DmaxDually: We bought our locking fuel cap from the TransFlow Installer in Bradenton, Fl. Here's a list of all installers by state: good luck https://www.transferflow.com/installation

Ok thanks I'll check it out. My installer is no longer in business.

Margerush: I see now that TransfeFlow is selling them on their website. They weren't when I had my tanks installed. Just ordered one. $33.00 not cheap...$20+ for the cap and $13 for shipping...

I don't mind paying for the product but it's paying more than 1/2 the price of the product in shipping costs..You know it doesn't cost $13+ to mail a gas cap...

I opted for an in-bed tank as opposed to the Titan that would only give me 28 gallons more than the 37 I normally carry. The Ford longbeds have 37 and the short beds have around a 26- 27 gallon tank, which the adding the Titan would be like having the two together. I went with the ATI 51G tank as I just couldn't see spending $1600 for a tank that only gave me 28 more gallons. The ATI is in the bed and I realize that some do not want that, and that's why there are options. But since I already have an in-bed tool box and can't have a cover, I opted for the ATI. It sits in front of my tool box and is only 9" wide and a little taller than my low profile, crossover box. With the 51G in the bed, plus the weight of the tank, I am adding about 400 lbs to the bed(51x7=357 + tank weight of around 40 pounds). I have an F350 DRW.
I added the gravity flow install kit from ATI and then added a 12v electric valve(with a manual shut off as well) hooked to the Upfitter switch on the dash so I can add fuel as I need or want to. While driving and towing, it can add around half a tank(18G) in about 45 minutes. All for around $625, which is around half the cost of a Titan. Do NOT get me wrong, I love Titan tanks, but in this instance this is the way I went.
I have a friend in Montana that put a 100G transfer tank into his truck and carries 137G total. That's a lot of weight, but he is a stickler for weights and is under all of his capacities when hooked up. To each his own. Just my two cents.

For those of you that went with the Titan in bed 50 gallon tank, I have a question. Would that tank allow me to in stall a bakflip bed cover?

I know you asked about a titan tank. I have the 50 gallon TransFer Flow aux tank in my bed and a BakFlip cover fits with no problem . The Transfer Flow tank is designed to fit under most covers..FYI, here a link for a 50 Gal tank for your truck..I got the spray on bed liner on my tank..

Thanks DmaxDually. I have looked at both of these tanks online for a while now. While I like the TransFer Flow because of its lower profile, I am not enamored with the price tag. I can get the Titan tank for $500 less. I know a few on this forum have a Titan so I would like to get some first hand information.

Plus keep in mind diesel is 8.3 pounds per gallon, so your GVWR or load on your rear axle can be affected by going with 75-100 gallon tanks in the rear of your bed. Plus I like having the CG lower with the fuel under the truck rather than sitting up higher, since the 5th wheels already like to wag us around a little!
I think your off a little on the weight of diesel fuel it's closer to 7.0lbs per gallon. Water weighs 8.3lbs per gallon and diesel floats on water.

You are correct. I must have saw the weight of water as a comparison, and used that figure by accident. It says diesel is 7.11 pounds per gallon.
