Apollo went poof up date
I know thing's were not going to be good when Lynn said that Sears was going to repair the Apollo. Any dealing's with Sears is not good. Today Lynn said was the day for repair. Sears called last night and said that they would be here to repair the Apollo today the 21 of Dec. They would call before they came. Waited all day here and by the phone and finally at 4:30 Sears called and said that the would not be able to look at the Apollo till after the first of the year. Not only is the Apollo junk but the repair service sucks. This is not Lynn's fault but we will have a discussion on Mon or Wed after Christmas. DW and I are NOT happy about this at all. I have the old one fixed and going to put back in tomorrow and box up the new one that is bad and ask what she wants to do with it. I know what I would like to do with it. I think that a lawyer might be involved now.

Today Sears came a repaired our new Apollo. Replace the board and thermo sensor. Right now it works great but time will tell how long. I hope we have as good of service that Rich and Helen has had on theirs. When it dose not work you realize how much you use it. Glad to have it back. I have a back up one if needed. Yes we know we should not have boughten another one but DW sure dose like the 1/2 time part.

In my own experience a long time ago. I do not buy anything from SEARS except tools (wrenches). Everything else, even if it is a brand name is made to their specs and repairs can only be bought from them. Learned that from the lawnmower and TV business. LOL Have a Good Day

Our Apollo gets a lot of use. In fact, the propane oven is now a bread box. So far we've only had to replace the gasket around the door. This Apollo has been a good one. I hope it continues. But, like all things electronic and mechanical, things can break. We really like this Apollo so I sure hope it continues to hold up.

We had some problems with the apollo that came with the 3400 but after receiving a new one over a year ago we have had no problems. I don't think we have ever used the propane oven. Helen loves the apollo.

My wife and I have been married for 42 years and have had Sears electric stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators. deep freezes, washers & dryers all this time. We like many other Americans have been very satisfied with them. I do most of my own appliance repair and don't find Sears products any worse then any others.

We buy Sears as well, get all of ours at the dent and ding store in K.C. Occasionally we have to order new. I am fairly handy, and appreciate the products they sell. I will continue to visit them for new goodies.

I was happy with the two repairman that came out to repair it. They were super. Some times the Sears products are great and other times there can be improvement. Just like anything else. If we need anything will probably go to Sears and look and other places also. One thing about Sears products is that they are made to there spec's and if you need parts you have to go to Sears. I have almost all of my tools from them.

People keep saying you have to go to Sears. If a thermostat on my clothes dryer goes bad I go to a local appliance shop and get one. If an oven element goes out I do the same. If the heating element in a dryer fails I get it at the same place. Now if it is a specialty circuit board, you'll have to go to Sears. For most things I have repaired, I've had no problems getting parts locally. We don't have a Sears store in Savannah.

Speaking about the Appolo is it supposed to come with a metal cooking dish? When I was looking through the manual it showed it as being there, but mine did not come with one.

I understand that you should not use the convection oven without the metal cooking dish, or the half time cooking method which uses both microwave and convection.

The manual that comes with it talks about the metal dish when using the oven part. What does everyone else use?

Ours came with one (the first one anyway). We have made sure to keep it hidden when the replacement process began. We did not receive the metal dish in the last two I don't think?? I would think that your dealer owes you one.

I would suggest that you contact Lynn at Apollo ASAP about the metal pan. Ask her about it and when to use it. When cooking in 1/2 time you need the metal pan other wise you will burn it up.

Mary gets to call LYNN Monday as this junk dose not work on 1/2 time or convection. Will let you know what happens this time. Apollo already has 125 plus in it all ready so it will be interesting on what they say now and if they [Sears] comes out there will be at least 200 plus in labor plus parts and shipping. And the story goes on.

As for the metal tray, we use it per the instructions. It is always used when doing the 1/2 time oven thing and never when microwaving. We haven't used convection only yet so I don't know what the manual says about the tray for convection.
