Another Fridge Question
This should be a generic fridge question...we have a Norcold side by side rv fridge and it seems the fans on the backside in the vent area either don't work or sporadic. 1. Are these 12v fans? 2. How to find fuses if inline? I had to put a small room fan in the vent area to keep temp down. Anyone replace these before? Thanks.

You need to add some fans (input on the bottom, exhaust on top vent) and consider installing an ARP.

Bob, click on the site that Butch provided for you and it will explain the ARP system totally. Great thing to have on your RV Frig!

We have the ARP device along with two of their fans. This package should be a mandatory accessory on these fridges. As far as the factory fans, ours ceased working a few years ago and in checking voltage, found there was 12 volts to the one side of the thermostat switch but not on the load side. It was tight getting to the switch through the top vent but once the switch was replaced, the fans were operational again and fridge temperatures were once again down where they were supposed to be. https://rvcoolingunit.com/Fan-Switch...-P1802601.aspx

looking at the ARP web site, looks like something I will be getting. my question can you get to everything from the back or do you have to remove the Refrigerator?
how difficult was the install for 2 fan set up?
I just had the L1oP error code and was able to do the reset so now I'm a little nervous about the fridge.
thank you

Changing out cooling unit means fridge is pulled, laid on the floor of the rv for work to be done. Nothing can be down from the back.

Frig
My norcold is a 4 door 2019 model. Worked great in micigan not so well in fl. Local florida norcold dealer said the thermostat that turnd the outside fans on is set to high. He wired my fans on aswitch so i can turn on the vent fans full time or turn off for use in colder climates. Once the repair was made i never had another problem with temps inside frig on hot days in fl

I wired my additional fans through a thermal snap disc switch.
They automatically turn on at 90 and off at 80. I also changed out the
existing 130 degree thermal switch control to the existing fans for one that
turns on at 110 degrees. I've yet to hear the original fans turn on.
The fans I added are much, much quieter and move more air.
In addition, I also added a bypass switch that will allow me to manually
turn all my fans on or off as needed. Haven't needed it yet as our Dometic 1350SL now runs in the mid to upper 30's on the hottest days. I even
had to turn down the thermo to 4 to keep from freezing items.

The Norcold fan switch is supposed to turn the fans on at about 130 degrees. The one for ours doesn't. My supplementary fans are turned on by an adjustable snap switch that I set and tested at 130 degrees. Then there are some that don't work at all. Then there are those fans that don't work either. You can jumper that thermo switch to check them for operation.

I didn't know about the 130 degrees but ours work as we do hear them come on at times.
