My tank is a gravity feed 37 gal. tank. It works just great. Fuel gauge reads full until all fuel is used from the aux tank and main tank starts going down. I don't have a problem with that.
Same here. Mark, take off one clamp, 3 screws and pull the pipe. Cut/clean, and reinstall with the adapter tee.

I've had a 37 gallon gravity feed tank for about 8 years and installed it in two different trucks. I love it. Makes things much less stressful for me.
Think it was around $500 with the gravity fill kit from Northern Tool.

Both trucks were/are short beds with 26 gallon tanks. Looking for a fuel station every 200 miles gets old quick.

If I could not buy another, I wouldn't sell it for $2000.00

Will a gravity feed tank work if you have no fuel cap like we have on the RAM? How does it keep from overflowing?

You have to cut the filler neck hose and install a T fitting in the hose.
This T fitting has a float ball valve that close off when the fuel gets up to it.
I've had ours in two different trucks over 8 or 9 years and it has worked perfectly every single time. (Chevy and Ford)

You simply purchase the T fitting kit that fits your truck. (The filler neck hose is different diameters on different trucks). The kit comes with everything you need to install the gravity fill.

I'm not familiar with the fuel cap on your Ram.

Funny Story. Have a friend with a Ford 350 diesel. He put his aux diesel tank in the bed and enabled the gravity, drip feed. after driving a couple of days, he got an engine light. Turns out the onboard computer decided something was wrong because he had driven 700 miles and his fuel never dropped below FULL.

I have a 40 gallon deezee only 8 inchs wide and then my 7000 honda. Still have lots of room in the box. 3500 gmc long box

A few years ago when we went full time with our F350/Montana I knew I had to increase my fuel capacity. Looked at all the possibilities since I had a really small tank.

Even being full time we planned on spending 4 winter months stationary in SW Florida, 3 months stationary up north, and then just 5 months actually traveling all over. So in reality I would only need the extra capacity for the 5 months of traveling.

I purchased four 5-gallons diesel cans with ez-pour nozzles. They fit perfectly in a low bed tool box I had and the cost was cheap of course. It took a little more work to add the extra 20 gallons when I needed it but being retired I had all the time in the world.

When we came off the road and bought another house I sold those cans for about half of what I bought them for. I would guess 2 years of having extra capacity fuel on board cost me in the neighborhood of $25 to $30.

Sorry, I do not have the combo tank/toolbox, but I do have an ATI 51G tank that I absolutely love. Since I already had a low profile toolbox, I put the one that barely sticks above the rails but is only 8" wide. I love having extra fuel.

On my setup, I didn’t cut into the large filler hose, instead, I plumbed into the 5/8” tank relief vent hose. Since I use a fuel pump instead of gravity feed, I tapped into the relief vent up close to the fuel cap. Works great.

I added a 37 gal aux tank so I could make it from upstate NY to VA before refueling do to high cost states in between. I have a short box and a slider hitch and the tank fits perfectly in front of the hitch with about 3 inches to spare. I can fit two folding chairs and my golf clubs between the tank and toneau cover snugly (nothing moves on the road). Total cost was about $500 and I'll never get it all back just from fuel savings but I just hated paying high fuel costs and it's nice just to have that cushion in capacity now. Computer's take on mileage has seemed to take it all in account as the readings I get seem to be about right.

I just Swapped my factory tank for a Transferflow 60gal tank. Worth every dime it cost in my humble opinion.

I replaced my factory Tank with a 61 gallon transfer flow and also had a 50 gallon aux tank installed in the bed. The reason I did it wasn't for less fuel stops while RVing. It was because I live in Florida and while I have come close a few times recently, but if I ever have to evacuate because of a hurricane I have enough fuel (110 gals) to get well out of harms way without having to worry about looking for or stopping for fuel with thousands of other panicking people in the same place doing the same thing..
Normally I just my use my 61 gal tank for everyday driving. But during Hurricane season when there is a hurricane that is heading towards Fl I fill both my tanks at least a week before and keep them filled until it is passed no matter where it is going. You see it all the time on the news when a storm is approaching. People wait till a day or 2 before to try and get gas and supplies only to find stations empty and shelves bare..

Going to buy a 36 gallon tank for my bed. Tractor supply for under 300 bucks !
I have a 110 gallon L shaped, but it's too much of a good thing. I don't need that much, nor want the weight.
