In most places network is very good over the air, since digital TV. If you have broadband available through WIFI or a hotspot (not park WIFI), I'd consider just going with streaming TV. I have Dish, with a Tailgater, and it works very well, but I rarely use it, opting for Netflix or Amazon.

This really depends on what you want to watch. If you can get locals over the air and have good broadband, which we do in two places we go, we use the Amazon firestick for Netflix and Amazon content. Since I am a sports fan and both places we frequently are get poor over the air coverage we also use Dish and find them cheaper and easier to work with than the other options.

Where in Sebring?? We're at Tanglewood Outback Resort and are getting something like 75 channels on our Bat Wing. We've had DirecTV since their early days so it's our primary source, but use the Antenna for local news and weather.

We have Dish. Got rid of Directv when AT&T bought them. They can’t run a phone company let alone a sat company. Plus with Dish I can Change my local channels on my phone using their MyDISH app. Works great for us as we tend to travel a lot.

Ditto, exactly my reasons. Also, pay as you go is a nice feature. I use the X2 antenna and can satellite coast to coast.

I've had Dish for 21 years. Use it at home and take my Wally with Ext HDD on the road with me. Subscription costs vary with programming but sometimes packages that contain things you don't want can put you at a price point that is not to your liking. All of the providers get into contract price disputes with the program suppliers and you may lost channels for a while during negotiations. Dish seems to be the most aggressive in trying to keep rates low. If you go for satellite, chose your dish carefully. Not all dishes will work with all receivers. The Winegard Trav'ler is a great permanently installed automatic dish but the Dish variant only works with the Dish Western Arc satellites (110,119,129). You can probably get these from Florida. Be sure you evaluate line-of-sight obstructions from your location to the satellites. Trees can be a nuisance. You can get the Sat Finder app for your smart phone so you can see the sats. I prefer the guide format with Dish vs. Direct but I guess I'd get accustomed to the one for Direct if I had to.

Internet service
Just wondering for those of you in the road, what are you using for internet service. If you have Dish for TV, are you using their offering?

I tether my phone to my laptop.
As far as Dish goes, if it wasn't for me wanting to watch the baseball Cardinals I'd probably drop it. Same shows over and over.

I use a Verizon JetPack for internet. Works well anyplace I have cell service which is most places in US and southern Canada. Daily access fees in Canada will break you unless you upgrade your data allowance to 16Gb which waives the access fee. If you have a Verizon smart phone with the mobile hot spot app, you can do the same thing. That just means that you can't take the phone to go run an errand when the DW wants to stay in the RV doing internet stuff.

We've also had Dish since before Charlie Ergen became a billionaire.
We use a CarryOut3 for convenience on short stays or a dish on a tripod for longer stays.
The bigger dish gives much better performance during stormy, very, very rainy weather.
The tripod is easy to set up with a good Satfinder App. Either way, just make sure your dish is level when you set it up.
Dish also has an alacarte option that can keep your programming costs fairly low.
The customer service is usually excellent.

My Dish bill is $67 and that includes a Hopper3 and more TV than I can watch or record. Flex Plan.

I have had very poor experience with DirectTV, so I recommend going with Dish. Dish has better support for mobile units (RVs), and supports HD, whereas DirectTV does not support HD. DirectTV could not even provide me a receiver compatible with my Winegard G3 Carryout - yet Winegard could. Go with DISH!
