Bit of humor

So as a new Montana owner, how many times do you have to hit your head before you learn? Lol

I must be a slow learner! Hit my head on the bedroom slide yesterday getting something out of the storage bay. Ouch!

Every day I decide I have finished the learning curve. Then the next day, I do something dumb.

With no curb feelers (bald) I don’t think I will ever learn. Been bumping for many years.

Slide is one danger but we bought a Montana because the entry door allows a tall person to get in their rv without a headache and can stand tall in the bedroom! I've wacked my noggin on the slide often but may be easier to learn to avoid then the entry door!!!

On the slides, I split pool noodles and then a V notch in them to go around the corners. Also put one above each basement door. As for the inside, and the control panel door, I made the following modification.

Hitting my head is not a big deal... Had a lot of 5ers and have pretty much mastered the bedroom slide issue!

Now, lets talk about that indoor "suicide step" that is in my current Montana going out the entry door... Took about a year and 5 near-falls to get that engrained into my head!

Pool noodles good idea, I went step further and used thicker pipe insulation. Still hurts but little less.

At 6'7" I hit my head on everything! But that bedroom door frame is the worst. I'm already bent over a bit because of the ceiling height in the bedroom and then I don't see the door. You'd think I learn, but nope.

The "suicide step." The factory installed our steps in the lowest set of bolt holes....11 1/2 inches to the first step when you came out of the rig. Hitting my head is one thing, but breaking my neck is a whole other so had that fixed after our first trip!

I bought a hardhat that looks like a cowboy hat. It fits low enough so it doesn't look like those beanies and from a distance nobody notices. Then after set up I put on my usual straw or felt hat depending upon the season. I used to hit my head on the door that is under the bedroom slide and under the bedroom while unhitching. No more.

I work in construction so wearing a hard hat is out of the question I do enough of that at work simple fix I got a couple pieces of yellow caution tape whenever I have the basement doors open problem solved

You said you had it fixed after the first trip don’t know if you kept the original step. But you might want to check into the more ride step above or the Lippert version both equally A great upgrade

We stayed with the originals, just set to the right spacing. Will probably upgrade to the Moreride at some point when I'm done with all the other have-to-haves.

I'm a slow learner too. Sometimes I can go almost a whole trip without hitting it, and then smack it on the last day when we are getting ready to head home.
