Thermostat does not show inside temp... ever wonder why.
So new thread to ask this question and find out when it happened and your opinions.
With all the talk and my own experience with the A/C units not cooling the Montana's. I notice that the this is the first thermostat I have ever seen that only shows the set point and not the actual temperature in the camper.
Did you ever wonder if this is a known problem and not showing the owner/customer how hot it really is inside their camper was done on purpose?
I am betting this set point only thermometer is by design to help hide the real issues.
When did Montana start doing this? Some of the older campers, I am betting they show inside temp. Like I said, I am 5 campers deep and this is the first I have ever seen.

This is our second Montana, before that a Forest River and a couple of more before that. Never had a thermostat that showed the temp and only the last one in our S&B did.

I started camping in the mid '70s and have had more campers and MOHOs than I can recall. Not one ever showed the actual temp. Maybe the AC manufacturers and camper builders work together so we don't know by design?

My early campers were like analog with the springloaded temp gauge on the outside much like the houses used to be and I suspect one and the same. My 2009 Jayco showed the inside temp and so did my 2011 Open Range. I had a 2008 Springdale by Keystone, I thought it did... too many years ago but this is the first one I ever remember that did not have one.

Our unit has a button you push that shows the actual inside temperature.

If you have the small Dometic thermostat toggle to off hit + or - it will show temp then toggle back to cool or heat! My stat is 5 degrees off like most.

I'm sorry but my 2015 will display the internal temperature if you select the right button on the thermostat.

Ours is like this but we must press the button twice and hold it to display inside temp. Goes back to set temp as soon as you release the button.

We have a 2014 3582rl our thermostat works like WeBeFultimers you press the button two times and hold it it will display the inside temperature when you release it it goes back to the sit point.
We just returned from a 5385 mile trip to Jasper Canada our Monty and Ram 3500 dually preformed flawlessly. Love the combo.

The actual temperature is not important but rather if you are comfortable or not. With the thin walls and little insulation the thermostats have a wide variation in the on and off points. Trying to compare actual with set point will always disappoint. The service departments can't handle all the calls that are truly unavoidable and unpreventable.

I'll kindly disagree here. Set point is a set point, even if the temperature reading is incorrect. If the the set point is 72 and the inside temperature it senses (and should display) hits more than the trigger temperature (+1 or +2 degrees), the unit should kick on. The thermostat should always be on an interior wall so temperature should not vary much from actual ambient air temp at the height of the thermostat.
Comfortable? This unit runs 3 degree under outside temp with both air's buzzing, it feels better than outside but I needed to know what the temp was inside. This is the first camper we could not hang meat in (my wife's term) because I do like it 70-71. And also the first camper that while in the main living area that one A/C would not handle that area, dual A/C is not new to me, this is my third dual A/C unit. On top of that, we typically can't run dual air because 90% of the camp grounds we stay in are 30A poles and that up until the Montana was never a issue..
Sounds like Keystone needs a class action against them after reading all of the A/C issues and my own experiences so far. Maybe then Customer Service would listen as it was commented before they don't.
No argument... just my opinion and disappointment in such an expensive unit that was constantly touted as the "best you can own" as we looked at all the other units on the lot.

I have a 2015 Montana 3720 and it does have a inside temp. It's marked in the control on the wall.
