Why?

Have you ever wondered why something is but there really is no answer? I thought it would be fun to start this and have everyone add their own question.

How come my silverware drawer always gets dirty when I only put clean silver in it?

How come I gotta wash my feet when no one can see them?

How come the fastest check out lane in a supermarket are always the ones I am not in?

Why do the traffic lights in Missouri seem to have no pattern so you can't predict whether it's faster to turn left here or go straight through and catch the next one?

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

How come the teaspoons always disappear from the silverware drawer never to be found again.

Why is it that after your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch or you have a sudden urge to go to the bathroom.
Why is the probability of being watched directly proportional to the stupidity of your actions.
Why is it when you dial a wrong number you never get a busy signal.
Why is it when you change traffic lanes, the one you were in will start to move and the one you moved into will come to a stop.
Why is it when you find a product that you really like, they stop making it.

And another thing, why do people constantly return to the frig with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized.
Why is it whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else off.
This one really bothers me - Statistics on sanity reveal that one out of every four persons is suffereing from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends - if they're okay ----- you might be the one.

Why do you spend 25 minutes tearing the house up looking for the TV remote when all you have to do is go over to the TV and change channels?
Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money in the account to collet it?
Why didn't Tarzan ever have a beard and look clean shaven all the time?
Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest but would always duck when someone threw a revolver at him?
Why do we try to keep the house as warm in the winter as it was in the summer, but when summer is here we complain at how hot it is in the house at the same temperature?

Why is it only a penny for your thoughts when you give your two cents worth?

Thermos flasks keep hot things hot and cold things cold...but how do they know?

Why do light switches have on and off on them? If the light is on then you know its on, and if the light is off then you can't read it anyway.

Why is it when you move something in a ship its called cargo but when you move something in a car its called a shipment?

They call it a hot-water-heater but why would you need to heat hot water?

They call it a building but after it's completed shouldn't they call it a built?

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will clean them?

Why isn't there mouse flavored cat food?

What was the best thing before sliced bread?

Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?
