A/C unit dripping inside coach

A/C unit works great except that the condensation drips from the unit and ceiling inside the unit. The drains under the condenser do not seem to be plugged, condensation does exit to the roof & over the edge but am getting a lot of water inside the coach on hot days. Are there other drains that may be plugged?

You could be getting ice on the fins that is then melting and dripping in. Try running your fan on high instead of Auto.

When trying to help others with a problem it is better to have the year and model of the unit.

You did not cite specifics on your rig.. If you have the traditional AC setup, and not the quiet air, it is most likely the gasket between the ac. unit and the roof. From the inside vent/filter, there are four long bolts that often come loose over time and allow water into the unit. Try snugging them up being careful not to over tighten damaging the gasket.

If it is on your front air and if it is like mine, in high humidity, I have to run it on medium cool, high fan. Condensation builds up on the inside of the air duct coming down from the top of the unit and drips down onto the lower air dispensing louvers. No way to prevent it but to let it cycle and dry out a bit by running it on medium cool, high fan.

On my older SOB that I used to own, I pulled ac cover on roof and had dirt robbers partially blocking drain pan.

A clogged air filter will cause this too.

Like 1retired06, two months we noticed water dripping onto our bed from the bedroom A/C. Pulled off the bottom housing and tighten the 4 mounting bolts. That did the trick! No more leak.

Just a note of caution. On some of the air conditioners the drain holes are on the bottom. If you tighten the four bolts too much, the holes may come in contact with the roof and prevent them from draining. Then the condensation/water can spill over the lip of the pan and drip into the trailer. Some of the Coleman gaskets have little yellow tabs on them that let you know how far to tighten them. (Guess how I found this info out )

You are exactly right and the bolts don't have to be tightened too much. I resolved it by drilling my own drain holes where the outside lip meets the pan. Think I used 1/2" bit. If you make them much smaller than this debris will clog the hole. Touched the edges of the drilled holes with enamel paint to keep the pan from rusting. Jim
