Morryde problem

On a return trip from bumpy-road-stinky-California, an Arizona gas station owner suggested we take a look at the Morryde suspension. He talked about disaster with it and Montanas. Worried my way back to home in Albuquerque.
Question: Is there such a history?

I have not had any problems with 2 different Montanas over a period of 8 years.

Thanks for the feedback. Looking at the suspension, from underneath, the rubber one can see is shredded. On this trip we did about 800 miles on major roads that were like washboards (the 215, 5, 405, 101). Perhaps that is what did me in. Might suggest that others take a look at the inside of their suspension if they have Morride.

Moryde is very easy to work with and will send you replacement parts if you need them. Call them and then send them an email with a picture and they'll fix you right up. Like everything else stuff wears out and even leaf springs break, but they should be fast and helpful.

I had a rubber shear spring (the metal center plate with rubber bonded to each side that the springs hook to in the center) fail after a major marathon blowout. If you see the rubber separated from the center steel plate, it has failed. Mor-ryde will ask for a picture and will need to know the model number of your monte if you are going to replace it yourself. Changed mine in a campground in maine. John

There's been a few of us have the shear springs fail. Mine separated from the center metal part. I noticed my fiver was leaning a bit. Mor Ryde sent me new ones free of charge during the warranty period. They weren't to tuff to replace.

Again, thanks for the feedback.
1. I bought the rig used and out of warrantee.
2. I flew airplanes but could barely repair a paper airplane.
3. My maintenance shop will take my money and replace the Morride with what they recommend.
