Miami Long Term

We're making the move to Miami in about a month and will be full timing it for the forseeable future. Unfortunately we will still have to consider our commute to work for a while (unless the Lottery thing finally works out for us). Right now we are set up for a couple of months at the Larry & Penny Thompson Park, close to the Metrozoo, which looks and sounds like a great park. We'd certainly covet ideas and experiences from anyone who's been around the area.

We have some friends that stayed at the same park last year. Here is a link to their site for a few ideas.

Hi There - We have lived in Miami for the last 40 years!! Now we live in the Keys but are on our way to the Montana Rally in Indiana. We often stay at Larry and Penny Thompson park when we want to shop and visit friends in Miami. It's a great park but I think the stay is limited. It has a nice pool which was just built last year, a lake, lots of bike and walking paths, etc. The campground is set up in pods and when we were there in May they were changing the electric and putting posts right next to the sites. It made it tight for slides but they said they had too many people knocking down the electric posts. I'm not sure where your work is so can't tell you about the commute. Campgrounds are few and far between in Miami and vacinity. There are a couple in FL City but that may be too far from your work. My name is Ruth Forgan and my cell is 305-975-4237. We'll be on the road until time to vote in November. Good luck with the move!!
