Tank heaters

My new unit (3160RL) has tank heaters. I assume these are DC powered; can anyone verify that?

I guess they suck a lot of power and could not be used while boon-docking.

It would not make any difference if they were DC or AC. When boon-docking they would use to much power. When we were full timing we were in cold weather as low as -10 for days and had no problem with the tanks.

Our 2015 has the tanker heaters and I am sure that I read that they are actually 12 volt pads around or under the tanks. We have been using them on and off this last two weeks, it has gotten down to 25 degrees several times here in NW Wisconsin. We have several blue lighted switches for fresh, black and gray tanks.
