Bike Rack
I'm looking at getting an '08 3485SA and am wondering if there are any good ideas about fitting a bike rack to this model. Can you access the rear frame for instance and retrofit a receiver assembly or are there other options? I'd prefer not to carry two bikes on the rear ladder nor on the front of the truck--cooling concerns with disrupted airflow.
Thanks, B

barmar, is the rear cap the same as the 3400 RL? If so, see my Mod's, it is not much of a problem, around $200.00 for the hitch ass'y, labor to install and your bike rack.

You might check with a Keystone Dealer. Rumor has it that a bike rack can be added as an option on the 08's.

I had a receiver made at a local welding shop and also had a couple of tabs welded on it for mounting the JT's stabilizers. There is not any difference between the rear cap or rear frame on the 2008 models than on previous models. My receiver was on our 2006 camper and I was able to install in on our 3465 the same way. If you want to install a receiver like Ozz or John did, you won't have any trouble

As of this past Jan., according to Aram, Keystone will not be installing any rear hitches for any time in the near future.
But, in the same sentence, the ok was given for us to have a hitch installed for hauling things like bicycles and ladders.

I just took the plunge and ordered a 3400RL yesterday. It will be a 09 and all the new ones have a 1 1/4 reciever for a bike hitch included according to an email to dealers from keystone early in April.
