IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR LK SISKIYOU RALLY ATTENDEES

If you attended the 2008, or have reservations for the 2009, Memorial Day rally at Lake Siskiyou, you may or may not have been approached by the campground management about a policy change regarding outside catering. You could have been told personally at some point while you were at the campground, received a mail or telephone notification later, or possibly you were not given any notification at all. Whatever your experience, I'd like to hear from you ASAP about how, when, and if you were notified. Please reply through the forum, by private message, or by e-mail.

Thank you, Don

Don,
Don't remember hearing about this issue at anytime from anyone associated with the CG.

Is the owner causing trouble? I suspect he wants his on premise cafe to be the ONLY source.
See you soon.

Nothing was ever mentioned to us about outside catering. I sure hope there is not a problem this late in the game.

(Ok I just can’t resist this…..LOL!)

Maybe times are harder then we think, and Don skipped out with all the money for the BBQ,

Plus if those who are returning from last years Rally remember…..now just who has those flowers?
Maybe this is a way for him and Claudia to keep the flowers for another year.

LOL! LOL! LOL!

HamRad has it about right, but I'm trying to work it out with them. I've reserved another off site building for the BBQ, just in case.

I'd still like to hear from others about the notification issue, since they claim we were all notified. So far I only know of one member that was notified by mail.

Don,

I called March 12 2009, to make reservations for 2010, they did not mention anything about catering, and I haven't heard anything by email or any other form of communication.

I made our 2009 reservation last year while we where there. I made my 2010 reservation In January. Neither time did they mention any thing about catering. They have been consistent in their secrecy as I have *NOT* received any letter, phone call, e-mail or communication of any kind from them on any catering policy.

Reserving another building away from the campground will cost money. I am definitely willing to put in a share of cost for the building.

If what DandM has suggested is what is going to need to be done, then we are willing to put in extra $'s.

Well, I had a hard decision to make on a policy change I learned of about 3 weeks ago regarding outside catering, noise and use of the room at Lake Siskiyou. The issue was resolved late this afternoon and our plans will go on as originally scheduled. I've asked for and been told I'll receive an updated package on future requirements for group situations when I arrive next week. At that time we should have enough info to make a decision on 2010. Absentee owners have been the problem, but park management has been sympethetic to my concerns and helpful in the final resolution. The only major compromise I had to make was an agreement to keep the noise levels down on Saturday night. Specifically mentioned as the main problem were "those damn noisy, gyrating flowers." Perhaps they'll make an appearance at the Spring Rally at Seven Feathers?

Noise?! Noise?! I got your noise right here!

Give me a break! Some folks just got no class whatsoever!

Thanks for all your hard work on this issue, Don. We appreciate it.

Wait, who's complaining about the noise when we have booked most of the lower campground ring!

WE are the ones that got the letter about catering by mail. We assumed it was mailed to everyone, so we re-cycled it. We then retrieved it when Don called!!

Thanks, Don, for your time and effort!!!!!!

Mariana-

I hope you do bring that letter, and I think it would be the perfect kindle to start the first campfire
