QUARTZSITE TO THE DESERT BAR "NELLIE E SALOON"

Jack & David will be organizing and leading the caravan from Quartzsite to the Nellie E Saloon/Desert Bar again this year. The trip is scheduled for Saturday 17 January 2015. We will be departing the campground at 10:30am....that means we will be lined up and ready to go, not " a fixin' to get ready to go" Last year we had a large caravan of at least 20 vehicles, so carpooling is highly encouraged.

The Desert Bar is one of those unique places that is a must do at least once. It is located in the desert about 5 miles off AZ 95 just North of Parker. Once you leave the pavement you will be on a dirt road, but the road is in good condition and can be traveled in a passenger car.

The "Nellie E Saloon" is situated in the Buckskin Mountains, in Parker, Arizona, on land that was an old mining camp. The camp was located on the portion of land that is now the parking lot. Parking is free, but the lot fills up fast which is why it is important for us to leave camp on time. Prices are reasonable and they do have food from a few different vendors (hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, etc.), soft drinks, beer and a bar. They also have enclosed restrooms with running water and solar and generator power. AS OF LAST YEAR, THEY DID NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS SO $$$CASH$$$ONLY

The Desert Bar is open Oct thru April, Saturdays and Sundays only, from high noon till 6pm, Arizona time. They also have live entertainment and dancing from about 1pm until closing. Here is a link to their website with much more information and some history of the property: Desert Bar

If you are planning to make the trip with us just reply to this post and let us know so we can get a head count and make sure we have others that have been there before strategically placed in the caravan so that nobody gets lost on the way there.

We are looking forward to introducing the newcomers to this unique and one-of-a-kind place and welcoming back those that have been before! If you have any questions about this trip, don't hesitate to ask.

Les & Sue,
The road is doable on a street bike, but would be pretty dusty. I am certain you will be able to find a ride with someone who is going.
