Found Xtra Space Under the Sofa

Steve was tinkering around and found there was alot of wasted space under the jacknife sofa.

The bottom faceplate is held on by two screws. Steve removed these screws and attached a piano hinge in its place. It now lifts up for easy access. We are storing excerise equipment and games in there.

Will try to post some pics...

There is extra space all over these things. Look under the interior steps, pull off any of the small brown cover/access plates, where the water pump's hiding, under the piece of plywood that is under the bed, etc.

Now if we could only inject a little anti-gravity juice into all the goodies we have now found places for.

I'm surprised there were screws in yours. When we had the jackknife that front panel just had two clips that fit over the round bar. Lift and pull and it came off. We kept a lot of things in there, too!

You can even keep a few things under the sofabed if you just lift the bed a little and slide things in there.

You can also access the area under the jackknife sofa by lifting the seat up. It will stay up when it's about 1/2 way to being fully extended ... makes getting stuff in and out of that area very easy.
