New matress

The last rally really cost us a lot of $. Besides getting the Level up system from Lippert we also had the disc brakes installed at Morryde. Oh yea the title said new mattress.

So the trifecta was ordering a new matress from Michiana Mattress also owned by Lippert. We ordered it when at the rally and it was scheduled for production the week before our other appointments. We ordered the Best Queen, 2 sided pillow top, upgrade memory foam, 336 coils. Total price was $411.94. I got to watch them put the pillow tops on and stitch the sides in place when I picked it up.

I mention this now because I just finished cutting down the "king" platform to fit the Queen. It looked like our "king" platform was a modified Queen any way so I only had to rip a few inches from each side and only about 60% of the length. It seems that the only concern about supporting the "king" was where we would sit when getting into bed.

Bottom line. the mattress is wonderful and I didn't have to remove anything when I cut the platform only slide the matress over.

Ours came with a King but we'd rather have a queen size as that is what we have at home and in our last RV. It sure would free up some room in getting around the bed. Maybe next year after we get done spending the $$$ for this winters mods.

Our "king" was not a real "king" anyway. The fact that after 2+ years it turned into a sponge rather than a mattress prompted the change. As our previous SOB had a Queen we decided to go back to that size so we would have some room between the bed and closet. This mattress is so thick that I can't sit on the edge with my feet flat on the floor. I can't wait to see the dog try and jump up on it.

Cheap entertainment! Be sure to be there to catch the poor thing when it starts to fall. Gotta love the puppies!

We have two border collies. Casey is almost 14 and can hardly walk so he doesn't even try. Chyanne is almost 8 going on 2 but she usually gets on when Louise is there reading. I'll let you know when I hear the first "thump" LOL.
