225x75R17

That's what is on my '08 Chevy 3500 Dually. They are General Grabber AW's with about 24k and are are wearing quick. I doubt I will make it this summer without replacing. 3 questions come to mind. 1) Anyone seen another tire this size other than the Generals? Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestones nor Dunlop do not make this size. 2) What about going to a 235x75R17, might have better luck with this size. 3) Will a 235 size raise the truck bed up any and, if so, how much????

Thanks.....

They make the Firestone Transforce H/T in the LT225/75R17 load range E. It is the only other tire available in this size and load range, but finding a dealer that has them in stock may prove difficult.

After considerable research the only tires I find in this size are not made in an LT, load range E. They are all P235/75R17 standard load range (4 ply).

The next size up from your original tires in a load range E (10) ply, is the LT235/80R17. This tire is 1.56 inches taller than the 225/75R17, wider by .41 inches and would raise your truck bed by .78 inches.

The 235/R80/17 is what is standard on my dually. Can not run 265 because of duals.
Good luck.
