Maybe it's not just Monday's or Friday's

I saw something on the factory tour and pointed it out to several of the folks in our group but didn't mention it to the guide and hadn't mentioned it here because I'm not sure it would have stayed that way. One of the rigs was in the process of having the plumbing installed and the one piece shower had the plumbing connected to it but the shower itself was only supported on the back side by two of the plywood circles they'd cut out to make the holes for the drain for the shower and the stool. I figured that they just did that because it was time to stop and they didn't want to put the strain on the fittings until they could stick the actual bracing under it. Let's assume that's it and not that the two cutouts were going to be the only backside support. What if they forget where they were when they come back on the next shift or someone else comes to work there the next day and that rig just gets closed in and moved down the line? I don't see how quality control (the folks who put the red tape on at the end of the line) would ever find that, but a few years later I'll bet the owner would. Just thought I'd post this because some of the things we find and wonder "How could they have missed that" could be attributed to when they stopped and started when you have to finish close to 20 per day and not just what day it is.

A good example of how things can go wrong. And not show up until after the warrantee runs out in one year.

Now I'm wondering if that happens only on the weekends or every day. Do they need retrained after a day off? I doubt it since they do the same repetitious job day after day.

The Problem is that the company pushes way to hard to keep prudution levels up. When I work for another trailer company they were pushing 14 units out of one line and 10 out of the other line every day. At that pase things happen.

dqdick, saw the same thing when the wife and i were at the factory for a tour in june of this year. So maybe the answer is that they inject foam to provide support or maybe not. my shower pan floor certainly isn't solid under foot when i move about in it.
