I just completed my traditional call as Santa Clause to the grand kids. I started this tradition with my daughter and we are continuing this with her kids. It was great. I remember a Christmas eve back in the late 80's when my daughter and I were on the back porch and I looked up in the sky and saw red blinking lights (probably a American airlines flight). I said to her I think that's Santa and his sleigh. You never saw a kid move so fast to get to bed in your life. Good times. Now with today's technology, my daughter changed my name to Santa Claus on her smart phone. The kids went nuts when she showed them who was calling. Life is good.

Merry Christmas from Omaha at the present time. Hoping to head South later on. The temps are really getting down here. Tonight is suppose to be a low of -1 or so and high tomorrow of 9*. RoadRunners TR21's story reminded me of our celebrating Christmas at the farm with my parents. We all ran CB's and had base units in the house. My Dad would CQ Santa so the grandkids could actually talk to him while he made his trip around the world delivering presents. One of the gentleman that lived about 5 miles from my folks would always pick up the mic and key in when Santa was called. You should have seen the kids faces and how they reacted when they were actually talking to Santa. The friend even had the jingle bells in the background from the reindeer pulling his sleigh. Oh, those were the days! We hope everyone had a good day and please don't forget the Reason for the Season!

Not the temp ~~ my younger daughter lives in OH but her family just built another home here. They come down for the holidays. When the boys have to return to school we are ready to go farther south.
