We live in Reno and frequently camp in Graeagle. Our suggestions would be to to 80 east, to Reno, then 395 north to Hallelujah Junction and then 70. From the junction of 395 and 70 , you'll go through Chilcoot and then Portola. About 10 miles west of Portola you hang a left and you're in Graeagle. There are several other routes, but they are fairly twisty and much slower, so this is probably the quicker one. Garage is a great little place. Have fun!

Hi Frank! The quickest route is Hwy-80 to the Donner Lake area where you take Hwy-89 straight to Graeagle. 8 miles shorter, but 30 minutes longer is the scenic route going up Hwy-80 to Auburn and then taking Hwy-49 north through Nevada City, Comptonville, Downieville into Graeagle.

Hwy-89 is a very good road. Hwy-49 is also in good shape but has more twists and turns. Nothing terrible and Virginia will have no trouble with it.
