Grip Rail Handle - Entry door

I was at a RV show in Sacramento last weekend and saw a great entry door rail handle. The handle rail top section was the same height and location of the standard handle but the front bottom part of the handle went straight down approx 12" longer then curved back up to the position of the standard handle and attached to the wall. In short it had about a 12" by 6" U shape on the bottom to make it easier to hold and open the door. Great for small kids and some of us older folks to hold on to without having to go up steps to work the latch then backup to open the door. It had a label on it saying "Stromberg Carlson". I checked the Stromberg Carlson web site and they show door rail handles but they are all the standard shape of all handles on the RV's now. The mounting bases looked like they fit the locations as standard rails. Anyone have one or know where to get one?

P.S. After asking where the Montana RV's were located they said the show was put on by one dealership and they did not sell Montana's. One of the sales people asked me if I had an RV and I told him I had a Montana Big Sky and he said he had the same RV and loved it. Said his son was a Montana factory rep in Arizona.

I thought I just saw them in the latest Camping World catalog? Something like this?
Extended Door Handle

I did what I should have done in the first place, I called Stromberg Carlson. You can see three styles of great handles on their web site - Strongberg Carlson Hand Rails, click on Product Catalog, then click on RV Hand Rails, then click on Commercial Rails. The rail I am talking about is Model No. AC-530 Price $138.95. They also have a picture with dimenisions on it.

Looks pretty neat unless you need to unlock the door. Dang, I thought I was done adding accessories. Now I've got another thing to go buy and install. You folks sure have cost me a lot of money over the years.

Hi Bingo,

Not the same handle, The Camping World handle is mounted on the door and works the latch by moving the handle to the side. Using that handle I do not think you could leave the standard hand rail on the RV and move it to the closed position when traveling. I want to the keep the hand rail to hold on to after the door is opened to get up and down the steps.

Understand now, at the mention of small children, I misunderstood your intent and remembered seeing the extended handle recently. I agree with the entry handle not being able to close across it, another feat (defeat?) of modern engineering!!

I saw it too on a Lifestyle 5th wheel at the show. It looks like this for those who are having trouble finding it on their web site.

Has anyone changed the OEM assist handle with this new design, it really looks interesting. Their manual states that the anchors are exactly the same as the original so no new holes. Part AM-533.

PPL RV has what I believe is the same style of handle for 49.99 plus 9.99 for shipping.
