Another satellite connection question

Some of this is a repeat from a previous post, but please bear with us. We recently changed our TV service from DirecTV to Dish with a Tailgater antenna. Based on information received in the previous post, we have eliminated the tailgater cable that came with the antenna and are using the same cable that we had used with DirecTV. When we run the cable direct from the Tailgater through the window to the receiver, it works fine. When I connect the Tailgater to the connection in the convenience center and then to the receiver we get no signal. This same connection worked fine with DirecTV. Now comes the puzzling part. We have connected the cable directly from the antenna to the receiver and get a channel playing on the TV. We then remove the cable from the receiver and then reroute it via the convenience center, we can continue to receive that same channel that we were receiving through the direct hook up. However, if we try to change channels we get the signal lost screen. Any suggestions?

One good thing about Dish is they have folks with RV experience in their tech department. I'd call Dish and when you get the service people ask for an RV tech and then explain the problem and see what they can do. They've been a great help to us in the past.

Unfortunately it depends on who you get on the line from Dish. I have received answers form the general tech support group that we don't support systems in RVs ( yes I am serious) to let me transfer to the RV support team and then some are very patient and extremely helpful to their claiming that the internal wiring for the coach is not up to their standards. They claim that RG 6 is what they need. I am still working through issues. Good Luck I'd be interested in how your issue is solved. Might help with mine.
