House SOLD!! Now we are officially trailer trash!

After 36 years of dreaming of full timing we have finally made the jump. House closed this week and the buisness sale will close September 12. We have been in the 5th for the last three weeks but still owned property so we were not officially full timers. Plan on traveling to Glacier NP with friends for a week and as they head off to go back to work we will travel to SD to set up residency and other requirements. Then across the northern states towards Maine. Want to eat a lobster roll and drink a glass of wine. No schedule after that just need to be in Pensacola FL by December first. Will stay Florida for three months and then see which way the wind blows to determine our route back to the North West. DW will need to have a grandchild fix by late spring to that is the only plans we have as of today. Looking forward to the change of pace, hope to be able to slow down and not go crazy after years of working at a crazy pace. Excited to meet others while on the road!!

Congratulations on moving to full-timers! I can only imagine the feeling and hope to live it someday. Be sure to reach Maine by October at the latest (here I am, putting you on a schedule), and Bar Harbor or Boothbay Harbor would be a good choice to enjoy a lobster roll. Best wishes and enjoy the lifestyle!

We fulltimed for six years and enjoyed every minute of it. I remember sitting in a campground in Fountain CO, and my wife had just closed the selling of our house and flew back to Fountain. I told one of the workcampers, well now we are homeless, and he said no you are not, pointed at our fiver and said there is your home, right there. He was right.

welcome to full timing. as for being a resident of SD we use http://mydakotaaddress.com/. it works for us, an hour north of sioux falls in madison. You just have to spend one night in the state and show your receipt.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Be sure to swing thru WI on your way eastwardto try some famous Wisconsin deepfried cheese curds and Sheyboygan style bratwurst. Two weeks from tomorrow we close on our house and will officially join you and many others in the fulltimers club.

Welcome to the club and enjoy full-timing. We are now 3+ years and enjoying it incredibly. Sounds like your getting things kicked off the right way. While the temperatures on the gulf coast are a little cooler in the winter, we enjoyed it immensely this past winter.

We spend the Fall and Winter in a small coastal town called Ocean Shores Wa,We are kind of BIZARRO snow birds ,we like all the Fall and Winter Storms but there is also some Beautiful days here as well in the fall and Winter I have lost track of all the Great Sunset/Ocean pics my wife has taken out our back Widow and there is hardly anybody in the Campground here(because they are all in Arizona)my wife does Volunteer work in town and I do alot of Fishing/Clamming and Beach Combing. But to tell ya the Truth the Washington Coast is Rougher and not quite as pretty as the Oregon Coast where we spend the Summer but Washington is where our Family is and ALSO New England/Maine is on our bucket list too one of these years

Just returned from a week in Glacier. You really do need at least 5 days to enjoy it all including the Canadian side where most of the wildlife hangs out in summer. We stayed in Columbia falls CG and it was great. Nice older lady running it.Glacier Peaks RV Park & Campground

Welcome to the world of Home-less folks. Sold the house, Started fulltiming in 2000, bought another house in '09, used it 12 weeks a year, sold it this spring, now back to almost fulltiming. Bought a single wide in the RGV for winter and 5th during the summer.

Best summer we ever had was '08. Plans were to get up and turn left. We had some 5 mile days, and none over 100 miles. Spent the entire summer in Wy. and Mt.

For residency consider looking at Texas. https://escapees.com/

I am also interested in the hand shake, so far I believe it may have something to do with a glass of wine, or maybe even a bottle!!
Has anyone got information on what is better for Texas residency vs South Dakota?
