Labeling them Pipes

Have you ever looked at the plumbing mess that not just Keystone does in the plumbing department, trying to figure out whats whats and what fresh water pipe is hot , cold , shower , flushing pipe ,and sink pipes ?
I got tired of guessing or tracing them down.

I got the Brother P-touch printer and started identifying and tagging the pipes, its just an idea for those looking for something to do. Pictures below.

At least in my 2012 they used Red and Blue piping to identify the hot from the cold. Clear does make it easier to confirm all the lines have been winterized however.

Clear or colored the plumbing is a dogs breakfast in these things, this is a good way of identifying what is what.

Yes in the newer RV's the use of red and clear does make it nice to see which is hot or cold, but the location is a important thing also and helps the "slipping memory", of what a pipe is feeding, in my case Keystone didn't follow that red and clear rule, if you see the hose with the red lettering top picture is the hose for the Black Tank flush system and not hot water as it should have been. the workers must have installed this on Friday so they could go home.

What an excellent idea! Detail oriented and organized... we'd get along famously! Thanks for the post.

Great idea. No other way to identify a run easily down there.

All of my PEX is translucent/clear with specs in red print all along it for the hot water runs, and blue print on the cold water runs.

Not sure what advantage there is in labeling them for what each one supplies though. In my rig, with the basement wall removed, I can see exactly where each of them goes to. The bathroom, kitchen, and convenience center are all extremely close together.

I had to remove the back flow preventer from the outside shower--we never use. It had been leaking--I finally realized it this weekend. I just plugged the hot water line--so only cold showers from the outside faucet--Not a problem! But labeling would be nice.--next project for me. I do label my TV cables and it really helps--converting everything to HD now--much simpler than the old analog system.
